Whitewoods Wedding - Pennsylvania Outdoor Wedding Photographer- Tyler and Jackie

One of my favorite things about photographing weddings is meeting new people and exploring new places. I knew Tyler growing up, but I wouldn’t say we were close friends. Throughout the planning process, I got to know Tyler and Jackie, and they were such a pleasure to speak to and work with. I felt like a lifelong friend at their wedding. To boot, Whitewoods was one of the most beautiful places at which I’ve ever had the privilege of photographing a wedding. Don’t just take my word for it… keep scrolling!

The Farm at Glenwood Mountain Wedding Photographer - Heather and David - New Jersey Wedding Photographers

If I had to choose one word to associate with Heather and David’s wedding at the Farm at Glenwood Mountain, it would be smiles. Everywhere you looked all day, there were smiles. You could see feel the happiness everybody was exuding, especially Heather and David. I can’t blame them, though. What’s not to smile about when you’re marrying your best friend on a beautiful day in front of your favorite people at a gorgeous and truly rustic venue?

Geneva on the Lake Wedding - Katrina and Daniel - Finger Lakes Wedding Photographers

Sometime between our initial correspondence and her wedding, Katrina told me that it would have a Roaring Twenties/Great Gatsby feel to it. I loved the sound of it. What she didn’t tell me is that F. Scott Fitzgerald quotes would be found in various decorations, there would be a live swing band at the reception, guests would be dressed like they would have 100 years ago, Katrina’s hair and makeup would be vintage AF, and that Geneva on the Lake would be one of the most beautiful venues I’d ever had the opportunity to shoot at. I loved it a million times more once I saw all of that for myself. On top of it all, Katrina and Daniel were so much fun to spend the day with!

Leia and Steve - Skyview Golf Club Wedding - New Jersey Wedding Photographers

Leia and Steve’s reception was intense. Their ceremony was beautiful. Their portraits are some of my favorite from this season. Even prep was a blast. There’s not much else to say except that Leia and Steve’s wedding was amazing. Everyone there, young and old, had the times of their lives. To top it all off, we got some pretty kickass photos. Enjoy!

Lyndsey and Nick - Waterloo Village Wedding - NJ Wedding Photographers

As a seasoned wedding photographer, I’ve seen a lot of different kinds of weddings. Lyndsey and Nick’s wedding was my favorite kind: perfect. These two were so relaxed all day, and they enjoyed their wedding to the max. From start to finish, there was no shortage of smiles and laughs, and there was certainly no shortage of great photos. See for yourself…

Alyssa and Patrick - Perona Farms Wedding - New Jersey Wedding Photographers

The first time I met with Alyssa and Patrick, we spent more time talking about music and exploring nature than we did talking about weddings and photography. That’s how I knew we were a perfect fit. Their wedding was a true reflection of their relationship and their personalities as individuals, which translates to: their wedding was mega awesome. I had so much fun with them creating our own little adventure exploring the grounds of Perona Farms, and their friends and family were just as much fun to spend the day with. Now I just have to convince them to take me on their next adventure. And I have to convince them that their next adventure should be to take post-wedding photos in Yosemite National Park.

Whitney and Steve - Sussex County Backyard Wedding - NJ Wedding Photographers

I’ve always loved a good backyard wedding. They just feel so intimate, so natural, and they’re always such a blast. Whitney and Steve’s backyard wedding at Whitney’s parents’ house took it to a whole new level. Their property was insanely beautiful. I’ve worked at actual wedding venues that don’t even come close to what they had to offer. From the trails through the woods to the gorgeous patio area used for cocktail hour to the pool (which makes an appearance at the end of this post,) I was in my glory photographing Whitney and Steve’s day there. To make it even better, these two were the epitome of a laid back couple. They had a blast every step of the way, and I’d argue that it was because of their demeanor going into it. Working with them was so enjoyable and effortless even on one of the hottest days of the year. I’m so glad they chose me to be a part of their day, because it was one I’ll never forget.

Hilary and Hunter - Lake Mohawk Country Club - New Jersey Wedding Photographer

When I write these blurbs on my blog posts, I often find myself struggling to figure out what to say. It’s not because I don’t have anything positive to write about, it’s because I’m far better at telling stories and expressing things through my photography than I am at doing so through words. Hilary and Hunter’s wedding was so laid back, easygoing, and just downright fun that there are just too many good things to say. I couldn’t have found someone not enjoying themselves if I tried. They had beautiful weather at a beautiful venue and were surrounded by beautiful people. I’m so grateful to have been able to play a part in preserving their memories of this amazing day. Hilary and Hunter were so friendly and such a joy to work with that I kind of wish they’d just have me photograph them and their friends and family every week. I hope you all enjoy viewing these photos as much as I did making them.

Jess and Rob - Renault Winery - New Jersey Wedding Photographers

I first met Jess at her brother’s wedding back in 2016. Working with their family was such a great experience; they’re energetic, loving, and just all-around great people. I was so excited when Jess asked me to photograph her wedding that I’d have the opportunity to work with them again. Jess was such an amazing bride. Cool, calm, and as carefree as you can be when planning a wedding just months before it happens. When I first met with her and Rob, it was like we were old friends. Though Rob seemed like a man of few words at first, we ended up talking about all sorts of things, and he might have even invited me to Amsterdam with him while he’s on duty. Speaking of which, Rob is an active member of our nation’s Air Force, and for that reason, I am honored to have been a part of such an important day in his life. Thank you for your sacrifices and for putting others before you, Rob. Jess, thank you for presenting me with another incredible experience in my career. And both of you, thank you for trusting me with your day and for making me feel like family!

Emily and Ken - California Redwoods Elopement Photographer

I don’t usually write a lot in these blog posts. I became a wedding photographer because I love storytelling, but I’m not the best with words. However, I could say so much about Emily and Kenny and their amazing wedding in the redwoods of California. So I will.

Back in the days of AIM (AOL Instant Messenger for those of you who have never lived) I got a message from someone about one of the Madden NFL games on Xbox. We continued talking for days, weeks, months, and I never actually knew who it was. One thing I remember this person talking about was a book his cousin gave him.

Fast forward a couple months to Mr. Hill’s 8th grade history class. I sat behind Kenny. One day, he started talking about a book. He mentioned his cousin gave it to him. And then it all finally made sense. I’d been talking to Kenny this entire time without even knowing it. I didn’t tell him about this until years after it happened, mainly because I felt like an idiot. Since then, though, Kenny has been one of my best friends. We played baseball together, currently play wiffle ball together (yes you read that right), went to the last game at Shea Stadium together, drove to Florida and back multiple times, saw the Mets lose the 2015 World Series in person together, and we have shared some of the best times of my life.

I met Emily when I was working at The Picture People in the mall. Back then, I was the guy who met with you after you had your pictures taken to try to sell you prints and all that fun stuff. Ironically, I never even got to use a camera there. Emily, on the other hand, did get to use a camera. She and I laughed our heads off playing Madlibs and finding creative ways to vacuum one night when we were closing. She was by far the coolest cat at The Picture People besides yours truly. I told Emily she should meet my friend Kenny, and one day he and our friend Dave came into the studio and had Emily take their photos. Shortly after that, they got together outside of Emily’s job and they hit it off immediately. The rest, as they say, is history. If it sounds like I’m taking credit for their relationship, that’s because I am.

I couldn’t be happier for these two. They’re some of my best friends, and they were clearly meant for each other. Just ask anyone who’s spent 5 minutes with them. It was an absolute honor to be able to capture the memories of their incredible wedding for them, but it was even more of an honor to be standing up there with Kenny as a groomsman.

I can hear you thinking, “how did you shoot photos of the ceremony and wedding party then, Garret?” Well that’s where another one of my best friends comes in. Dennis worked as my second shooter for the first time in the 7 seasons we’ve been working together. Some of these photos would have been literally impossible without him, so thanks for crushing it as usual, Dennis!

Okay. Wow. That was a lot for me. I could keep going, but I’m gonna cut it here. You came here for the photos, not to read a novel. Enjoy.
