Ashley and Code's Spring Lake Wedding

Ashley and Code's wedding started my year with a splash... literally.  They jumped in the ocean in the middle of the winter on the morning of their wedding.  The rest of their day lived up to the beginning, from a gorgeous location for the ceremony to a crazy, rowdy party to top it off.  Check it out below.

Alyssa and Jake's New York State Wedding

Alyssa and Jake's wedding is a perfect example of why I love what I do.  I got to spend time with some awesome, friendly people, experienced a beautiful venue, I've never been to before, and got to share my passion with people who care about photography.  Here are some of my favorites from their magnificent wedding.

Jess and Dan's Lafayette NJ Wedding

Jess and Dan had a perfectly low-key day with a close-knit group of friends and family at their wedding, but that's not to say it wasn't a blast.  They had excellent weather, a lovely ceremony, plenty of time for portraits (which I always appreciate,) and a great party at the end of the night to top it all off.  Some of my favorite photos of the year came from this wedding, and I believe that was a result of the easy-going and fun-loving demeanors of Jess and Dan.  Check em out below!

Jennifer and Greg - FEAST at Round Hill Wedding

It would be a disservice to Jennifer and Greg for me to try to explain how incredible their wedding was.  Words just don't do it justice.  They planted a tree together.  They had a giant snake at cocktail hour.  Their centerpieces were all fresh produce.  Their favors were homemade honey from Greg's bees.  On top of all that, they got married at one of the best venues on the east coast, FEAST at Round Hill, and everyone at the wedding was simply awesome.  Hopefully my photos will help me convey that better than my words.

Selby and Ronald - Stroudsmoor, PA Wedding

You know when you meet someone and you just know you could be friends?  That's how I felt when I met with Selby and Ronald for the first time.  I was right.  They're such down-to-earth, caring, happy people, and every encounter I had with them was a pleasure.  Their wedding was no exception.  From the beautiful location to the delightful guests to the fact that they wanted to take MORE portraits at the end of the night, I couldn't have asked for a better way to end my 2016 season.

Here are some highlights:

Best of 2016 - Weddings

2016 was a hell of a year for me.  I got to photograph weddings in 6 different states, in 10 different months, at a bunch of different venues, with tons of amazing people.  I got to catch up with old friends, and I was lucky enough to make new ones.  I got to share my passion with some of the most fun-loving and genuine couples on the planet.  I even got to karaoke a Whitney Houston song during a wedding reception.

On top of all that, I got to continue doing what I love for a living.  I enjoy every day on the job.  Not too many people can say that, and I have all the couples who trust me to capture their day to thank for that.  Without you, I'd probably still be managing a crew of high schoolers and college kids at Modell's.  Thank you all for being so great.  Some of the photos in this post were taken while I was working with my good friend and incredibly talented photographer, Dennis Pike.  Thanks, Dennis, as always for the opportunities.

Below are some of my favorite photos of the year.  I wish 2017 all the best in trying to top 2016.

Danny and Bo's Backyard Maine Wedding

I've known Bo for a few years now.  We play wiffle ball together (yes, I'm in a wiffle ball league, Palisades WBL, look it up.)  A couple years ago, Danny started coming to the games to watch Bo.  We'd talked briefly a few times, but what really stood out to me was how she was always there, and more importantly, always providing useful critiques of Bo's game.  Now that's a great woman!  I was thrilled when Danny and Bo asked me to photograph their wedding, not only because it was on the waterfront in Maine, but because they are such a genuinely great couple, both as individuals and together.  Their intimate wedding was filled with laughs, lots of happy tears, and a really great group of people I was honored to be a part of.  Enjoy!

Ro and Garrett's Manhattan Wedding

After having such a great time with Ro and Garrett on their engagement shoot at the American Museum of Natural History, I knew their wedding would be a blast.  I was spot on.  Every decoration, every location, everything they did reflected who they were both as individuals and as a couple.  The whole day was such an authentic celebration of their relationship, and on top of that, everybody had a hell of a time.  See for yourself.

Ro and Garrett's American Museum of Natural History Engagement Shoot - NYC

When Ro reached out to me about her and Garrett's engagement shoot, she suggested two locations.  The first one I read was Brooklyn Bridge Park.  Beautiful area, tons of opportunities, I thought to myself, "good choice."  The next one was the American Museum of Natural History in New York City.  When I read that, I thought to myself, "YES YES YES YES YES YES YES!"  I'd never shot in a museum before, and what better one to start with than AMNH?!  We had a blast, and Garrett and Ro were such a pleasure to work with.  I leave you with some of my favorites from their shoot...

Lindsey and Elliot's Long Island Wedding

When Lindsey and Elliot booked me, I was still very new to wedding photography (I think it was 2013, could've been 2014 though.)  I was excited to get to work with them, especially after their engagement shoot which went swimmingly, but even more because it was a chance to try to thank them for trusting me so early on in my career by providing the best work I possibly could.  They were so easy to work with, incredibly laid back all day, and tons of fun on the dance floor.  Just another case for my I-have-the-best-clients argument.
